I want to know what others think about this.
I say no he shouldnt. Here's why: If you or I or a friend of yours did something similar and were sent to prison for it, would you get to keep your job? Honestly, do you think the average American would be able to keep working at the place they work for the same company?
NO.
Why should he, and any other athlete/celebrity, be able to get his job back? He had his chance. He was PLAYING a GAME for millions. Millions. Set for life, fame, fortune, ect ect ect. He blew it. He should not get another shot at it after doing something as bad as he did. I would say the same for anyone else who did something similar, worse, or close to as bad.
Let him live off the millions he still has or get another job else where. But the NFL should close its doors on him and others like him. I would love to live that life. Bieng able to provide for my family and their families. Give them and myself the finer things in life. And better yet, while playing a game

So think about it and think about how you and other regular people would most likely lose their jobs for getting arrested and put in prison, not to mention do something like Vick has done.

Some of you are saying he should. But why? You and I wouldnt be able to get our jobs back making much much less and not in the spot light he is in.
He had the opportunity of a life time that people dream about. He blew it. No way should he get another shot in the pros.
He gets out of prison and gets a second chance at life on the outside. THAT is his chance. He lost, in my opinion, his chance to make millions playing football. Im not saying he shouldnt be forgiven but let him live a normal day to day life. No football. No making millions playing it.
And I hardly doubt the apology was genuine. Atleast not for the right reasons. He lied earlier this year about it to his bosses and to us. He ONLY apologized after being cornered. Just a month or so ago he said he was going to clear his name. Another lie because he was guilty and he knew it. He deserves another chance at living life, but with out pro football.

Yes, he's confessed his involvment in dogfighting and now he will serve his punishment. . . Even if Michael Vick sits out two years, he would only be 29 when he returned. Despite all the negativity out there about Michael Vick, love him or hate him, Michael Vick is probably one of the most talented players that have ever put on a uniform. Criminal or not Michael Vick is an amazing athlete period.

No, he shouldn't be able to play football again. Plain and simple. He killed defenseless animals in a sick and twisted way. Any man capable of that, who knows what else he's capable of. The only reason he pled guilty is because his so called friends ratted him out, otherwise he would still be maintaining that he's innocent.
A man like that should not play pro sports. Children look up to these men, they idolize them. What kind of rolemodel is he? He's not one, and he deserves every bit of punishment that's coming, and then some.

I don't know. Initially, I said no. But he's looking pretty sorry on TV. I heard some sports announcer saying that maybe he should be given the opportunity to earn his way back. Maybe this could be used as a means to get the message out about dog fighting...get people reporting it instead of looking the other way, get some stricter laws and punishment. Draw attention to it. If he would agree to be involved in some sort of public service campaign, maybe he could redeem himself. Make a positive out of a negative.

Arthur Blanck has said today that Mike Vick will never play another game for the Falcons.. So tell me, what team is going to sign him when (and if) he is reinstated by the NFL.

No, he should not be allowed to play in the NFL -- he should be banned for life. I wouldn't want one red cent of MY money to go into his pocket, and many other NFL fans feel the same.
I agree with you. Everything you said, let him make a living some other way than subjecting the rest of us from looking at his face and being reminded of the things this man has done.

Vick's going to play ball again. Not one league is going to turn their back on an athlete like Vick. I a couple years we will all forget about Vick and he'll end up playing in the AFL, CFL and eventually back into the NFL.
Thats how the media works. Eventually Vick will lose coverage to some other mass hysteria story. And while he is under the radar they'll let him play again. In the NFL and other athletic leagues thats just business.

Yes, he should be given the opportunity depending on his behavior. I think these people who are in a rush to say, no,no,no,no are getting to emotionally involved with this case. I mean really, for what he did, is he any worse than Ray Lewis, Jamel Lewis, and Leonard Little, who are all still playing right now? Sex offenders get a second chance. (with restrictions of course) This is a country of second chances, if we did not give second chances we would be in bad shape, we are all imperfect.

Let the man play the sport he loves, if he is suspended, make it without pay and concurrent with his jail sentence.
Sure he messed up, committed a sick crime, but at least he pleaded guilty unlike a certain running back/ wife killer we all know and love.
Let the man serve his sentence, like a normal human, and then let him return to his job, pending what team wants him.
When Kobe raped that girl and basically bought out the case, he still got to play, even during the court hearings and all.
