My af was also Aug 6th and I got a positive opk at cd 15...so I could've ovulated cd 16 or so.......Right now I am 6dpo so it's definitely too soon to test. How many days after ovulation are you? My cycle can be around 29-31 days. We definitely have similar cycles! Depending on how many days you are past ovulation, I would suggest to test maybe 10dpo and then if it's negative (hopefully not!) then test again 12dpo.....LOTS of BABY dust to you!!!

It really depends on how much of the hormone is in your urine, most tests claim to be 98% accurate, but you have to read the very fine print first! Your best going to the doctor and getting a blood test, that will never tell a false result. You can test now however if you get a negative I wouldn't worry too much it might mean that the hormone level isn't strong enough to be detected by the test. Usually it's safest to wait until your missed period or the day your period is due.

I wouldnt test any earlier than the 1st of September, but even then use a first response early result test with first morning urine. If you get a negative, don't despair. Wait 2 days and try again. Remember that it takes 5-12 days for implantation to occur, and then another couple days for hcg to be in your urine. If you know when you ovulated make sure you wait 12 days (12 dpo) from then at least. Some people get positive tests as early as 8 dpo but they are the exception rather than the norm. Good luck! I hope that helps.

Some tests claim they can detect the pregnancy hormone 5 days before your missed period, but I would wait until you have missed your period.
