It's not prejudice. It's bias. It takes a LOT of eating to get to that point. A lot of people feel that fat people don't care about themselves and that's why they eat as they do. Why should they show respect or consideration for someone who doesn't care enough about their body to keep in shape and not abuse it. People who use eating as a vice is making a bad problem worse. Like people who turn to alcohol to solve problems and only create another. Some people have weak constitutions and just don't care about how they look or their health. Some people use obesity as a crutch. Some people get huge so that they don't have to work! It happens. There is a mentality behind getting morbidly obese. Genetics play a factor in being big to a certain extent but to get HUGE, is a personal choice.

I think it is because weight is something most of us struggle with, thin or heavy. We're so afraid of becoming morbidly obese that we despise the thing we fear.

Obesity is not seen as an illness, but a situation of the person's own doing. The fat person is being blamed for their fat.

I know of noone who is prejudiced against them rather they feel they must try and get their attention to their unhealthy lifestyle, and many people who do this are often seen as being prejudiced.
