when a couple get married, who pay(s) the bills? if the guy pays the mortgage and the girl pays utility, should the girl have her name in the house? i mean, they are sharing the expenses in different aspects. AND is there any family still having ONLY the husband to pay all the bills??

I wish that my spouse paid for the all of the bills. The bills are shared. He does make more, therefore; he pays more of the bills. Our house is in both of our names!

If this was a perfect world.. bills would be paid by one spouse's income so the other income could be all spending money. Also, if one spouse lost a job, the bills would be the least of one's worries.

In some states if the house is acquired during the marriage (in some cases even before) it doesn't matter if her name is on the deed. She gets half if they divorce.

The proper way to pay the bills is to pool your money in a joint account from which all of the bills are paid. That way both parties get credit for pulling their fair share.

I would also advise everyone, especially the ladies, to put some money aside in a seperate account for a rainy day.

I would hope they pool their money to pay bills and have joint ownership in everything....it seems like the "marriage" thing to do.
