Yes, because he was working with the bush administration to trample the Constitution of our great country, and he was trying to impose an authoritarian executive branch that is above the rule of law on all of us.

look, it matters not, libs, democrats, the mainstream media, terrorists,..they all hate George W. Bush, and A N Y O N E who is in his administration, so they start this drum beat so simple minded people who don't even know who Janet Reno was, are suddenly experts on how evil and unconstitutional Gonzales is..remember Ashcroft, he was the worst and most unconstitutional man alive... till Gonzales came along, guess who's going to be worse than Gonzales? you got it, the next att. general...libs are so full of palpable hatred they are frothing at the mouth and they don't even have the slightest clue about what they are talking about..in closing, i suppose i am happy he resigned, he was for amnesty, but hey, at least i have a legitimate beef with the guy, unlike most people here, they just associate him with W and demand he go to prison...shmucks.

Yes! He was nothing more than a corrupt puppet for the Executive Branch and in doing so, degraded the Judicial Branch and due process of law. For his part, I think he should be subject to due process of law for:
-- Firing of States' AGs for refusing to participate in GOP political agendas.
-- Using the Patriot Act to bypass President approval and Senate confirmation of replacement State AGs
-- Perjury in Congressional investigations
-- Failure to uphold his oath of office regarding judicial oversight for surveillance programs

Bush will probably replace him with someone just as dishonest, but at least the next attorney general will be a little more nervous about trying anything like Alberto Gonzalez did.

Yes!
If he had any integrety at all, he would have resigned long before now. He was just trying to make sure what was found, that caused him to resign, wouldn't be. doesn't look very honest to me.
