Well, let's say that the reasons for laws are to eliminate evil. And if those evils are committed, then one gets punished, and depending on the crime, put in prison. Since the percentage rates are high that convicts will end up in prison again, it would be a point to show that it is not a prevention of evil, and even further, the possibility of life in prison and/or the death penalty, is still not enough to deter people from committing crimes. I'd like to be optimistic and think that since the majority of the world community is not in prison, that there is more good than evil in the world, but as long as there are humans, there will be evil, unless we collectively decide to stop behaving selfishly and show kindness and compassion towards one another, especially before doing something that will hurt anyone else!

The world is not the way that God created it and because of that, all are vulnerable to the affects of sin in the world. Why does one person suffer and another does not? Why do catastrophes happen to some and no others? It is because sin is in the world. But there will come a day when the Lord will return and cleanse this world of all sin and all suffering. as for Isaiah 45:7 ? In the Old English Tounge of 1611, The Old English used to word Evil in their King James Translation as a way of descibing Calamaity, such as disease, Tornadoes, Storms, Earthquakes,, Old English people used the word evil to describe natural disasters

The process is a normal chain of elimination. The animals, for instance in the wild, don't kill to kill, but to eat: to survive. And so on... There's no evil or else in that, and don't create more evil??? I'm seeing an actual balance that can be reach in one's mind, yes. Universal, seems far fetch, because of all the poverty, the unequalities, hatred, jaleousy. All the secrets are discovered constantly, but not all at once. We might reach there some day!

As long as Evil is seen outside. the question of reaching Universal Balance/Nirvana /evolution does not arise.
both are diametrically opposite
one is outer other is inner.
If God is perceived as a person , God will have limitations of Time and Space.
instead of imagining about hypothetical questions regarding God. better to search ,feel life within . and then one step taken in right direction will lead to new Revelations.
till that no science no philosophy can end your query, question, except taking you on Marry go round of verbosity.

Evil is a convenient word we use to hide from the weaknesses in our own humanity. We take Adolf Hitler, laugh at the Chaplin moustache and closet him away in a little box labelled 'Something from the depths, nothing to do with us'. Then we start talking about evil as an entity, as if it really exists outside ourselves, something that might be done away with.
The reality is that one man (or woman's) evil is another man (or woman's) religion, creed, culture, madness, period of history or pop group. To paraphrase another poster, 'evil' - where there is a general consensus, (eg., Hitler) - is a wrong choice. If you are to eliminate 'evil' then you must eliminate wrong choices. Eliminate wrong choices and you eliminate humanity itself.

So, in order to go about riding the world of evil we must:
1. Decide what is evil.
2. Devise a method of eliminating this evil without using evil means.
Gee, this is tough. How many different kinds of evil exist in the world? Is war evil? Is child sexual abuse evil? Is lying evil? In all cases can we eliminate war? child sexual abuse? lying? What about the death penalty? Is the death penalty evil?
Okay so how do we eliminate war? And who will enforce the end of war? An army? How will we eliminate child sexual abuse? Tougher laws, identifying the abusers to the community? By sentencing to death the abuser?
I think your question raises more questions than I can answer and I've kept it to this plane. I don't believe in God so I'm not even going there.

That's a lot of Ifs. The fact is evil is everywhere and there is no way possible to get rid of it.The only thing you can do is try your best to do what you think is right. Sometimes its going to hurt, sometimes your friends are going to try to change your thoughts, but you know what is the right thing to do so just do it no matter what. Then you will be doing your part in trying to make this a better place to live. Finally, yes Gods creation can never be totally understood by the human mind. He prefers spiritual progress (which we are capable of) rather than spiritual perfection(which we are not capable of).

The evil in the world is not a "thing" that can be attacked and destroyed by a person or society. It is a choice that people make, so in that since it cannot be destroyed without the use of evil.
But, our purpose is not to destroy the evil in the world, but to destroy the evil in ourselves. In that since evil can be destroyed and that does not create more evil. In doing that we become the example that others will see and follow, thereby fostering the elimination of evil without causing any evil. Ultimately the solution is in ourselves.

All human evils are produced by faction. We fight with one another about things we do not understand. Until phliosophers are kings or the kings of this world become philosophers there will be no relief from evil.

Only if you use evil to eliminate evil.
Man cannot fathom God's nature or his intent. God invented evil and put it on his world for a good reason which humans are not yet capable of understanding. Have faith in God.
