Now our country can heal a little from the wounds Alberto Gonzalez has created.

Our president has GOT to be kidding for the statement he made.

"It's sad that we live in a time when a talented and honorable person like Alberto Gonzales is impeded from doing important work because his good name was dragged through the mud for political reasons,"

Bush said before leaving Texas for Republican fund-raisers in New Mexico and Washington.

Every time someone in the Republican Party resigns Our Country Heals it’s wounds that the Republican Party created.

May question is: tell me I’m RIGHT, anyone tells me that I’m wrong must have their head underground like an Ostrich.

To answer other peoples answers; Alberto Gonzalez was not found guilty then why not just Say the Truth. Not saying anything at all gives many people not just me the impression that he is lying and hiding something that was wrong and that make him guilty in my eyes.

And for another answer, I don’t care if someone is White, Hispanic, Black or any other ethnic background. If they are in politics there race does not matter to me.

They are here for all American People!

You are correct. At this point anyone who supports Bush is in a serious state of denial. Who knows what that lying weasel of a pResident actually thinks.
I never listen to Bush. He always lies.

As for Gonzales, I am proud to live in a nation where a lying traitor can be compelled to surrender a office for which he is so obvioulsy unqualified.

But worse, here is the classic storey of a public official who confuses personal loyalty with his public responsibilities and duty to the office he held. .
Good Riddance.

This goes beyond partisan politics.
Democrats are not the only ones who had issues with Gonzales.

His testimony in front of the Senate is one of the worst, ( no it is THE worst ),
all time performances of an Attorney General in my living memory. I will bet even Nixon's attorney general, ( who went to prison ) , had more class.

I support the President on a wide variety of issues...but on this he's been smoking something. I never understood his appointing of such an obviously inept and untalented person for political reasons. This is what happens when a person gets appointed by virtue of their ethnicity instead of their merit. Gonzalez may have been attacked and dragged through the mud for political reasons, but mostly because he brought it on himself, lacked integrity and was completely ineffective in his job.

Yah, you're right on this. I'm not sad to see him go either.

You cant just make a statement with no examples or references and say that if someone does not agree with you they are an ostrich. How about some examples. You talk about Republicans as if they are the only ones doing stupid things. I could go on for hours about politicians of both parties. If people would stop being so partisan and realize we are being screwed by all of these politicians we could probably do something about it. Stop supporting politicians, they do not have your best interest at heart.

I lived in Argentina for a while in the 1990s. Alberto Gonzales reminds me of the WORST of the repressive regime there. This is what I say to him (and his supporters):

Goodbye and good riddance.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Make sure we have your forwarding address for the hearings.

Hasta la vista, baby.

You're right. Everyone who disagrees with you has their head underground like an ostrich, everyone agrees with you, the President has to be kidding, etc.

You have so lost yourself to political bigotry that there is no arguing with you. Nothing will reach you.

I'm a democrat. I'm not happy about it. We just hounded the first Hispanic Attorney General into resigning without being found guilty of a single thing.

I'm not proud of that.

I'm no political bigot.

doesnt seem like you are asking a question, but trying to impose your view. you are expressing an opinion, not fact, and not once are you asking a question, but making a statement. last time i checked, this is yahoo answers, which means you really should ask a question. liberals are afraid of questions because they either are afraid of the truth or have to answer in half-truths in order to make their stances look better and disguise what they really are.

President Bush is just saying what he HAS to say to his LONG time (but incompetent) friend. Nobody believes what he is saying anyway - it's just politics.

p.s. You are right
