Can you cash in on a bearer bond?

i'm aware bearer bonds are illegal now, but is it still possible to cash them if you happen to have them?

They are not illegal to own, they are illegal to issue. There are no new ones, only very old ones. Go get your money.

Bearer bonds are not illegal! they just aren't issued anymore because the IRS can't collect taxes on them as easily as book entry forms. If you have one, I believe it has matured! Cash it in!
Spend your $$ wisely.
