You need to be more descriptive. Too many people use the word "techno" to describe all kinds of music they don't like or understand. Some of the more repetitive types include: house, dance, tribal, electro, trance, minimalism. Think primitive drumming or the kind of music you usually hear out at the club. Some other types include: electronica, drum and bass, chill, down-tempo, ambient. They are more the product of what you might get if you combined the previous examples with modern hip-hop, jazz, pop, classical, dub, and even rock! Some examples might include: Fat Boy Slim, AK1200, Jazzanova, Portishead, and the list goes on and on because musicians are expanding on the styles everyday.
