It was first published in January 1845 so if you are serious , it could be very valuable.
Check with your local library to see if they can give you the name of a reputable book valuer who will not try to rip you off.

Good luck.

I really need more information. Who is publisher? What is complete title on copyright page or title page. The link below is for a second printing of a first edition. It goes for 25 grand. A first printing is worth at least 4 times that amount. Summary:

Description: Original green cloth, recased, expert repairs with matching cloth from another Library of America book, lettering renewed. Foxed and stained as usual. Half morocco case. FIRST EDITIONS of two classics of American literature. One of the classics of American literature, Poe's Tales contains his three great detective stories marking the invention of the genre. The present copy of Poe's Tales has the Craighead's Power Press imprint, indicating second printing. Copies of the first printing of the Tales in an original binding are now of great rarity, and almost all two-in-one copies include the more common third printing of Tales. The Raven and Other Poems was "the most important volume of poetry that had been issued up to that time in America" (Poe's biographer Hervey Allen), and today it remains one of the two or three most important and valuable books of American poetry. As a last resort you could have it placed on Ebay since it's leather bound and probably an anthology of Poe's works. I doubt they would published just a single poem of his.

1845, wow! It must be worth plenty since it was from that time. If it is in fair quality it may be worth much more than $200 I suspect.

Keep looking around in that box where you found it!...if you come across his Tamerlane and Other Poems (published in 1827, when he was 17 or something ridiculous) it's just about the most valuable book in American literature.

Take it to a used book store. They can probably assess the value of it.

I think www.westherbees.com might help you because it is a company that evaluates things like that on the PBS Antiques Road Show.
