Wear sunscreen of SPF 40 and above, or wear brands that are doctor recommended. If you're on the beach, you may want WATERPROOF sunscreen, which only works if you wait 15 minutes after sunscreen application to go into the water. Sunscreen, waterproof or not, should be applied every one to two hours, depending on the brand. You may want to check the label, just to be safe.
