It means not sending them to occupy another country (there is no "war" in Iraq) and then having them do multiple tours in a country where the vast majority of the population doesn't want them there and blames them for the lack of basic services such as clean water. It means that more rich people and the relatives of politicians should sign up instead leaving it to poorer members of society to serve. It means that those who did serve can get decent medical care if they are injured and they don't have to pay for their own meals. It also means the troops be adequately protected against the roadside bombs which have caused the majority of injuries and deaths so far.

If politicians had to sacrifice their own family members, then there would be no wars.

I find it interesting that nobody ever asks the folks in Dallas what it really means to support the Cowboys. Does anyone in Detroit wonder what it really means to support the Red Wings? And those are teams “bought and paid for” by the cities they represent and the only thing on the line is community pride.

Meanwhile, young dissenters all over the country sit in poli-sci classes and listen to liberal “professors” pump tooth-fairy sunshine up their skirts until they believe they know more than the leader of the free world, and are qualified to Monday-morning-quarterback a war they learned about from CNN, MSNBC, and National Public Radio.

Allow me to simplify gradually here. You liberals try to follow.

There is safety in numbers.
People form societies, then governments and finally nations, for security… safety in numbers.
A nation’s security is a product of that nation’s ability to make war.

That’s why every great nation in history has had a great military.
That’s why militaries and warriors are necessary so elitist, lilywhite, idealist can sit securely in their homes and talk s**t about the very infrastructure that makes them free.

Make no mistake. This country is well into it’s decline. Like every other great nation in history, we’re now catering to the deviants, cowards and crybabies, which will be our undoing. Our military is fed up with being abused for the job they do and the coming leadership with only add insult to injury. No good deed ever goes unpunished!

So all you “Bush lied, Cheney/Halliburton conspiracy, It’s about the oil” elitists out there remember your stand when you have to turn to Hillary Clinton, Rosie O’Donell and Sean Penn to come and protect you.

Those of you who are GREATFUL for your freedom, who are not ALREADY SERVING, please continue to Support the Troops!!!!!

It's a tool used by the right to criticize the left. The right claims that anyone who opposes the war is a terrorist and anit-troops. That means nothing because any person with an IQ of 60 or higher knows that's ridiculous. Unfortunately, people with an IQ of 60 or lower are the prime demographic for the Reps/Cons.

LYMANSPOND- don't you know that cooks and people like that are contracted out to Halibuton? They don't actually use soldiers for that kind of work anymore. Why do you think there are civilian truck drivers going over there, civilian contractors, etc??? Rent the documentary "Why We Fight" and brace yourself.

This is not you grampa's kind of war. We're not in this war to bring democracy to these people, we're there to make billions of dollars for Lockheed Martin and Haliburton, Bush and Cheney's pals.

So I think supporting our troops means not selling them out to Big Money. And Lockheed Martin has the audacity to run that commercial about how they understand why we are over there and all that crap. Yeah, I bet they do. They keep washing of our solidiers' blood off their hands and counting all those tax dollars that are making them rich. Also, supporting our troops means getting them the mental and physical help they need when they come home, instead of telling them something was wrong with them before they went to war and so they're on their own.

Meanwhile, hurricanes decimate New Orleans and we don't have any National Guard because they're all in Iraq and Afghanistan. And the public schools are having their funding cut, and the freaking bridges are falling into the Mississippi River, and the Veteran's hospitals are failing miserably because why?? Because instead of spending this money in our own country where all these things are falling apart, we are spending TWELVE BILLION DOLLARS A MONTH IN IRAQ (where they don't even want us) AND AFGHANISTAN.

zero cool...lol
well i love the movie hackers....
anyway support our troops? well i dont believe in this war thing and i think it's kind of sick how bush has to send other peoples children to die, BUT i support the troops because they are allowing people like ME to whine and kvetch about how terrible war is. support the troops because they are doing the dirty work and we're at home having lattes and going shopping and watching movies and whining about our jobs and in general just enjoying our freedom...
but that's my humble opinion...maybe support the troops means something else entirely and im missing the picture!!!

you are able to help the troops and not the war. i do no longer believe you asserting that each and every physique that helps the war is chuffed with reference to the indisputable fact that our infantrymen are loss of existence, or that we are spending various of money on the war. How dare you assert that. No American is chuffed to determine our infantrymen wounded or injured, or to determine them face difficult circumstances interior the war and afterwards. the fundamental theory of helping the troops is to no longer carry them responsible for the movements of the politicians, to disconnect them from the killing they ought to do by using fact it is their activity. in case you have a topic with the war, take it out on the politicians, no longer the warriors. i visit grant you some credit however: many far impressive-wingers use a help our troops theory as being a binary situation, the place in case you help the troops you help each and every thing in contact with the war. they are flawed, and it incredibly isn't the case.

I am surprised you must ask. It is lending support to Military families at home while their loved ones serve our country, protect our country. It is writing to a Military Soldier and giving them praise for what they do, sending a care package to let them know you appreciate them.

Helping by donating to fund to help their families why they are deployed.

Being a true American and standing proud for our Service People! I don't care if you agree or don't agree with the way, there are Americans over there fighting for all of us, be a upstanding citizen and praise them!

God Bless America!

it means, regardless of who the president is ,you wish the success of the mission the troops were called to fulfill, and wish their safe return when victorious

It means different things for different people. For some, it means "Support the War and the troops fighting in it" for others it means "Support the troops by pulling out of Iraq and saving their lives for something a little bit more worthwhile." To me it means the latter. For most it is just a general "Thank You" or appreciation towards the men and women who put their lives on the line for their country.
