i think you two should make a list of things she likes. then start naming things to bring. there is a bunch of fun games that kids love to do. plus this is a good way for you two to spend some time together

Three days is a long time! I might also suggest going to the library and getting some "books on tape," then sending her off with a tape player. Those always worked well for long trips with kids in my experience.

If you use an earbud type listening device for the player instead of headphones, then I think her friend should be able to listen to the book at the same time as long as they're sitting reasonably close together?

If you know that your kid doesn't get car sick (and won't be sitting the back of the bus), then various types of hand crafts should be okay, but looking down and concentrating for a long time can be a problem otherwise (however, we also found that if the person listened to music that had a really "strong and prominent beat" while doing that seldom got carsick!).

You don't say how old she is, but playing cards can be fun and involving especially for older kids. And the DH and I always play "Boticelli" (sort of like 20 Questions) on long road trips, but that wouldn't be suitable for young kids.
Does she know how to knit or crochet... that could be another good thing.

Buy some hemp and learn macrame. they make nice necklaces and the stitches can be found just by searching the web. Or knitting/crochet is always nice, and cats cradle will keep you busy for a while. With gimp you can make lanyards.

well my first instict was to do braclets but then HELLO bus bumpy. So coloring came to mind, HELLO lines?

Playdoe or clay would be fun. Bring wipes along to clean hands.

Weaving construction paper mats can be fun. Do colors that have to do with the season or their favs.

ORIGAMI fun but make such you can DO them, some are hard

Hope this helps
