Your question seems to be directed toward the idea that human beings live elsewhere on other planets. I would not be so bold as to say that.
However, there is a very good chance that "Life Forms" do exist on other planets. Those life forms might well be insects, fish, or birds. Just look at the number of species of insects, the number of different kinds of fish life, and the many different kinds of birds that we have on earth. However, in the mammal family we only have monkeys/apes and Man that resemble human beings. There are many, many mammals which do not resemble man.
So, unless that distant earthlike planet went through exactly the same series of climatic events and upheavals that Earth has undergone in the past five billion years, in exactly the same sequences, the chance for human beings similar to us living elsewhere in the Universe is rather remote. possibly they will develop on that earthlike planet in another million years or so, or, it could be that humans did develop there but were wiped out by climate change or disease long ago.

People are only on earth. The furthest they've been is the moon. We don't know about life on other planets, but it's not impossible if you look at how big the universe is.

Life on other worlds is very possible. We just haven't found life on other worlds yet, but its probably just a matter of time.
NASA's mandate is to "follow the water", since water is necessary for life as we know it to survive. So we are actively looking, it will just take time.
