i heard somewhere that the occasional stepping on a lawn is actualy good for the grass is this true?

SO?....what the heck else is it "THERE" for, or what good is it.....if you can't walk on it?
Now "THINK" about it.....PLEASE!
If it was not "GOOD" for grass to be walked on, and grass was not meant to be walked on, then just,.....WHY IN THE HELL WOULD PEOPLE HAVE IT IN THE 1st PLACE?????

Constant use of heavy equipment, and cars, trucks etc., can cause compaction,....not people or pets etc
Horse races are run on turf .

no you tend to compact the soil and damage the steams of grass. but don't worry about walking on it it takes a Lot of steps to do any damage.
