Too much MTV, sex on tv, and feminists demanding equal rights?

"In a nod to social conservatives, Ahmadinejad told off Britain for sending sailor Faye Turney, who has a young daughter, to patrol the Persian Gulf, asking, "Why don't they respect family values in the West?"

rerugged,

He also hates the liberal secular professors in Iranian universities. Don't you agree with that too?

Doesn't the right constantly attack university professors?

NOTICE HOW CONS AGREE WITH THE FUNDIE PRESIDENT OF IRAN.

THAT'S BECAUSE CONS AND THE IRANIAN PRESIDENT ARE BOTH MEMBERS OF THE (((RIGHT))).

THEY HAVE ALOT MORE IN COMMON THEN JUST THAT ONE QUOTE.

Excellent propogandist. Use small, powerful, loaded facts and point them the wrong way at your enemies.

Fact: Faye Turney has a daughter, and is in the British military.
Propoganda: The British specifically sent her, implying they sent ONLY her (no other Brit is mentioned) because she has a daughter, implying the British (and implying the West in general) have no respect for her family, implying they have no respect for family values in general, implying they have no values at all.

Honestly I find spin and lies like this beautiful in their construction; the only problem is that many people buy it. Among my friends and other people that can see through the bullshit though, I love to discuss this stuff, its so interesting intellectually. The problem is that while I find the words so interesting in their CONstruction, the words are typically meant for DEstruction.

We call people who put these words to bad use "evil" (and for good reason); Hitler, this crack addict dictator Oddmanhandjob, and others like them. But when people with this much power over words put their gifts to good use, we get poets, great authors, and men like Martin Luther King Jr, whose speeches caused so many good effects.
Its in the choices we make; do we want to do good, do we want to do evil, will we try to be good through evil means, so on. Its all up to us.

Yes america might be losing it's tradtional values, as is the rest of the world. The same occured with the many generations before us, and the ones before them. Is that necesssarily a bad thing? We change with world as the world changes around us.
As then and is now, be wary of the rantings of any extreme fundamentalist. They will spew half truths to gain your allegiance, then commit haneous crimes against humanity that would make the next 5 generations wince with shame.
i.e. A few hundred years ago in Boston hardcore fundamentalist leaders where lableing young girls witches, and burning them alive for doing as little as questioning the traditional beliefs of the time.

When both parents have to work just to pay bills and the democratic run schools have your kids for 8-10 hours a day then yes, family values are slowly going away.

They need to lower taxes open the schools to BOTH sides (instead of just the liberal side) same with colleges.

Then family's have to start spending time together.

It has been reported that families prefer time together.

Yes, the west has lost sight of some of it's values. On the other hand, Ahmadinejad has a long way to go before he can criticize the west.

With so many single mothers raising their children, and so many fathers not involved in either the mother's or children's lives, you really need to ask? High divorce rates, parents deciding to "live" together rather than make a legal commitment to one another, sex for sale on several street corners, and the expectancy of free sex for dating. Yes I would say it has declined, partly because a single woman can get more social services for her children than a married one, and God forbid people take responsibility for paying for the children they bring into the world.

Leave it to a liberal to try and connect the dots between radical islamic fundamentalists, and strong family values & morals. As if having strong family values, morals, and basic common sense puts you in the same category as the president of Iran!

no, family values change. the concept of the family we have today- parents taking care of children hasn't been around that long. family as we know it is a relativly new idea. and family has changed quite often in such a short time.

sometimes we get mad about the wrong things- we protect people's rights to dress provocatively and be racey in the media, but we outlaw nude beaches or nudism itself when its not sexual (but is natural). we put up warnings in museums that art has nudity- even when its non-sexual.
some females used to get in trouble for breast-feeding in public.

we don't value fathers. Ahmadinejad wasn't mad about the fathers dying and risking their lives in the war. we should change and value them more.

its not all cons that agree, but we do have many people on the right who would be okay with mixing our gov with religion. with having a part republic, democracy, theocracy. (yes I know thats a bit of a paradox. what I mean if they don't want to loose all rights and keep our voting policies but want things to focus on religion)

christian fascism isn't as powerful as islamo-fascism and lacks its levels of violence, but it is dangerous to america
