I think you are right. It has nothing to do with race, just ignorance. And that comes in every color, no matter what. So does cruelty. He had dogs fight and mame each other and those who were too sick to fight and could not go on, he admitted to chocking, hanging and drowning them, so they would not have to "suffer". Which does not make any sense to me. Because when dogs fight, there are no "winners". Each dog has to carry some scars-physically and emotionally-and when they are rescued, they have to be put to sleep, because they now have a taste for blood. It is really sad.
Regardless if it is a white person, black person, Spanish-whatever-dog fighting is wrong and illegal in every sense. Hopefully, he will learn his lesson in jail. Hopefully, the people accused of doing it with him, and those who knew about it and did not do nothing about it, I hope they realize they are just as wrong and as guilty as he is.

I don't think this is a race issue. I think a white man would be met with the same reaction. Or, if this had been Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods, two very beloved athletes, I think more people would be willing to forgive.
The real question of race in this is, will this affect a black man who wants to be a quarterback in the NFL? I don't think so. But if this thing had happened to the first black quarterback, back whenever that was, I think it would have been damaging for the second.
But I do believe when blacks and whites committ crimes, the punishments are generally harsher for blacks. In Vick's case, what he was involved in was horrific and he should go to prison for years.
I don't think this case is a race issue. Actually, the real race issue is in the racist posts by people all over the internet every day.

this is only the stable ole rigidity by using media for you. If it is not undesirable adequate that Vick is below suspicion for this ill act, they must coach it up a notch and stick race in there. I swear while issues are undesirable the media unearths some way of growing to be all of it worse. additionally, the media continuously desires 2 factors...I advise it makes for a extra suited tale does not it? maximum people (a minimum of those I even have encountered) have already desperate that Vick is in charge, so, i'm confident that the media recognises this and unearths that this is an opportune time to mild up his supporters; for this reason, growing to be much extra controversy. Race will continuously be debatable... this is a comfortable concern and that i do blame the media for continuously bringing it to the leading element..after all gossip and drama are what sell and that's all they care approximately.

I do not think the situation with Michael Vick is a race thing. What he did was wrong and his color, race or religion had nothing to do with it. Yes, there are far worse crimes being committed by all races that tend to get less attention and less punishment. That is very unfortunate!! Michael Vick is a role model whether he wants to be or not. Anyone who is some type of a celebrity ofcourse is going to be in the spot ligt more as well as there mistakes. What he did does make me angry because I am very tenderhearted when it comes to animals. I love them and hate to hear when people mistreat them. I hate when people are mistreated and crimes are committed against them as well, especially senior citizens or disabled people who can not defend themselves. Animals are not always able to defend themselves. What Michael Vick did was cruel and unnecessary and inhumane. I do wish that people would not make things a racial thing.

I think he's an a** hole thats what I think! Black or white he's always will and is always going to be an a** hole.
And in response to Little Miss.....being black and having to live in a "white world".
Don't you think the way blacks were treated would make someone like Michael Vick relate to the animals rather than do EXACTLY what "white man" has done to "blacks"? Torture people (in this case torture innocent living things)
He should realise that these dogs were treated like rubbish, hit and beaten, made to fight - doesn't it sound a lot like how black people were treated. So why would he repeat it, just on animals

The people who do that are grasping at straws. And the race card has worked so well in the past, why not just keep trotting it out?
How can someone honestly defend a man who allowed dogs to be killed? What kind of sick person gets an enjoyment out of watching two dogs fight to the death? He's a sick mofo.

Just like his little brother Michael Vick is a loser who never makes wise decisions and the worst part about it is that he was a role model to kids. I am glad that he is going to jail for the cruel and ungodly things he did to those dogs. I am also glad that my daughter won't see him on t.v. anymore, I hope that his karma hits him ten fold.*edit This has nothing to do with race, just intelligence

I agree with you! BUUUTT you kinda wonder you have Micharel Vick Then you have DMX along the same lines with the anamal cruelty thing. You have to admit Maricopa county probibly wanted a high profile case on their dockets also making them look good too. I would spark curiosity if another famuous person of color also got caught within the next few weeks

It's only a race issue to the extent that on the talk radio station I listen to, African Americans keep calling in saying that it is because of the gangster thing. Apparently THEY think that only gang bangers do that sort of thing. Like white trash never does it?

It is not a race issue, it is a moral issue. It is against the law to support and participate in dog fights.
