I Had it recalibrated riht after i bought it and it worked for a while as far as i know there is no valve between tanks. the fuel is removed from the rear tank by an inline pump. It is pumped directy to the front tank. Is there some kind of sensor in the rear tank that tells the inline pump when to stop pumping and when to start back?

do you have a sending unit in the rear tank? if you do it could be stuck on mt . and its not allowing your transfer pump to engage to pump the the fuel to your primary tank. i know on some years of GM hds with factory installed duel tanks they re designed the rear tank because once the fuel got to a certian level the level arm would get hung up on the filler neck 0f the tank... just something for you to look in to.

Not showing full sounds like a problem with the dash gauge if it does this on both tanks or could be the tank sending unit if it only does it on one tank. Other problem sounds like a bad dash switch or fuel transfer valve---there should be a valve or solenoid where all the fuel lines meet from both tanks and the fuel lines to the engine to switch from one tank to the other. You'll have to test for power at the valve when the dash switch is in one position or another to see if it's getting power. Or blown fuse/bad ground.
