I purchased one on QVC. Guess I had a retro moment. Do you think wearing such a jacket is too young for a senior?

I have a black suede fringed western jacket and a black suede fringed waistcoat, both were bought in 1969 from Carnaby St in London. I wear both on a regular basis, especially if I'm going to a Country & Western night or a Linedance. I will continue to wear them too.

Good grief, not at all. I love it.

I had a suede jacket that was that olive green color. I also had a suede hat that was so cool but someone stole it. I miss that hat so much. I gave the suede jacket away a long time ago but wish I still had it just to remember.

Boy, our 60's generation did a lot to change the world, that's for sure. I loved every minute of it as far as the fun part.

I just love your questions. I shop on QVC a lot myself. Somebody will probably ask you where you got it. If they are showing it again, then it is coming back in style. Hooray for you.

Oh MY! My hubby had/has a jacket with the fringes on it. Solid leather, deep brown and in great condition....considering the age. I just asked him if it still fits? LOL, LOL...no!! I didn't think so!

Hey, too old to wear anything retro? Then I am in big trouble! Most all my wardrobe is retro. All the way back to Victorian dresses.

Listen, hasn't this world put enough rules on us, all our lives? Wear what makes you happy. If it is this, "look" you want, go for it! Geesh, I think we have earned the right to wear what we want!

Besides, think of how good you'll look in this!!

Yep & I still have my originals & a few newer versions in Black. I love the way the fringe feels. Even if I don't wear them very much, it's not because of my age, it's because they are just too hot & uncomfortable. I see a lot of people wearing them around halloween. Other than that, they seem to be a rarity on the streets of large urban areas in the Southern California areas! "Do your own thing", is still my motto to live by!

Yep, had some high-heeled sneakers in my mid-twenties. Red corduroy with about a 4-inch white platform. Closest I came to blue suede shoes was green suede shoes. Also had a white blazer and found a pink carnation.

Who cares about your age? If you enjoy it then wear it! It's that simple.

I used to own a fringed vest when I was in my young twenties. And I had a fringed suede purse that I carried all through high school.

I did, and I think I might still have it buried in the back of the closet. (Yep, it's still there. Deep purple fringed vest.)

I'm all for wearing anything that keeps me warmer, and I've reached that age where I really don't give a rat's behind who doesn't like what I choose to wear as long as it's modest.

When I scalded my foot (dropped a pot of fresh coffee), I wore slippers everywhere. (Sorry. Got off track.)

h yes! When I was 12, my parents bought a tan suede jacket with all the fringe. My mom got pregnant with my little brother and borrowed my coat, it s..t..r..e..a..c..h..e..d out of shape after that, so I couldn't wear it. But I did have one!

I don't have one. But I have seen women older than me wear them well. It depends on how you pull it together. We don't want to look like an old person who is trying to look young. That's just sad.
Think of Olympia Dukakis or Sally Fields or Oprah. They can dress very stylish and young for their age.
Go for it! Have fun. As Oprah says, live outside the box!
