I think and hope the ignorance and discrimination are on the decline. However I think racism is a word thrown around to loosely and doesn't belong in association with the other two. Racism I feel is a primal instinct; ignorance and discrimination are uncontrolled byproducts. We are on the right path but it will probably be another 100 years before all the behaviors are corrected.

Racism is no longer socially acceptable but will never go away. It is hidden just as homosexual tendencies were hidden in the last century. African Americans have done fairly well as you put it simply because of historical facts. Black people did not come to America voluntarily in the 17th/18th Century - they were kidnapped from their homeland and brought forcibly to America. This fact is recognized and acknowledged by reasonable thinking whites. Asians and Latinos chose to come to America and so their presence is more resented by those with racist tendencies. A proportion of white Americans confuse their own racism with patriotism believing the two concepts to be identical

I think racism and ignorance will always be around...in the backs of our minds. But I think discrimination is somewhat fading away..it's very taboo to openly discriminate. But I don't believe it will ever completely go away. Especially in the southern and midwest states. Not to knock them...but I think people are more tolerant in the big cities of America.

African Americans are not doing better in the media when compared to any other race. Latinos are doing very well in radio. I am well educated and I am sitting here on yahoo answers. I would say NO Racism is not gone. Otherwise I would be somewhere working. Not to mention being paid what I am worth.

Tolerance in itself has gotten better over the years but there are still visible signs of ignorance with certain people against african american, Native Americas and Latinos... But putting race aside, there is still a lot of prejudice still involving women and gays and lesbians as well. There's always going to be some jerk out there that has a problem with a group they are unfamiliar with and are ignorant to.

Most of the South is now racially tolerant, however, I still find a great deal of racism in places like Chicago, Detroit and Los Angeles.

As long as there are different races there will always be racism.
As long as we have different genders, and differing sexual prefferences...there will always be gender and sexual discrimination.
As long as we continue to age....there will age discrimination.
As long as people think skinny, blonde, muscular people are good looking and worthy of praise....fat, non-blonde, weaker people will be viewed as 'lesser than'.
I could go on forever...bottom line is we have to treat others as we want to be treated ourselves.
It is the Yin/Yang. Where there is good there must be bad. There will always be two poles, North and South to distinguish the difference between the two.
As far the negative stuff, we just have to continue to try to control it as much as possible to keep individual rights protected.
Also, if people view themselves as lesser than, they may always consider themselves a victim of various things, which is something that must be worked on from the inside out by a licensed psychologist.

I believe that racism will never go away. It is always there. Some people have just gotten better at hiding it from the public because we all have work together.

i do no longer see this. I see black individuals taking great element with reference to the political climate and use it as might some whites some years in the past. I submit to in ideas 2 white women people who utilized for U of M in Michigan. One had a 4.0 in school and the different a three.8. They have been refused and a black male replaced into allowed. while asked by using the media, as there replaced right into a lawsuit filed, the Liberal head suggested it replaced into variety. The black male had a plenty decrease grade prevalent yet replaced right into a basketball participant. It replaced into no longer the basketball that have been given him in, he replaced into prevalent. It replaced into race. Do you notice this with decrease back women people, no.no longer something replaced into released with reference to the case and that's only too undesirable as all of us want data and reality! only who's accusing white adult adult males or women people of being a bigot? I had many black male pals while working interior the shop. I had to chop up from them as they did no longer comprehend their marriage, they felt extra manly if out getting all they might. 70% of all black inner city infants are fatherless as their dad is out getting different women people. this is a reality and nonetheless is. they're raised this type... get what you are able to and you're a guy, who's figuring out to purchase those infants? The x-spouse or nonetheless spouse is out making a living, knowledgeable for a job with tax funds so she would have the capacity to help her smaller relatives. My heart is going
