The time to apologize was when the investigation started. That was the time to fess up and admit what he was doing. Not after first, lying about it and denying it, and not after getting caught.
Im sorry but that apology was far from sincere. If he really believed the things he said, he would not have gotten into that mess. He was involved in that for years. It wasnt something that just happened as a rush to judgement sort of thing. It wasnt an accident either. To top it off, he threw Jesus into the mix. I hope but sincerely doubt he found Jesus. Why didnt he find him BEFORE he got caught? Why not when the allegations came to light?
I dont feel pity nor feel sorry for him whatsoever. The man had it all. He got to PLAY a game for a living making millions upon millions of dollars. I work my *** off and worry if ill be able to provide enough for my future family. The guy knew what he was doing was wrong. It is common sense and unless he had no conscience, he had to of known it was wrong

The guy admitted to his crime? Sure after he was cornered. Most people will admit to their crime when they have already been busted. If he wouldve admitted a while back, then that mightve been different.

Like when Ryan Leaf read an apology after blowing up at the reporter? Then crumbled it up and tossed it away.....Now he wasn't sincere at all...Vick, I think he's pretty pissed at himself right now for screwing his life up...I think he is actually sorry that he did it. Not as much for everyone else as it he is for himself, because it's his life he messed up, and I think that might be why people don't find him sincere. But I think he was....That doesn't mean I'd forgive him for that crime....but that doesn't mean he didn't mean it.

Dear Bucian,
Personally i really have no idea whether Vick's apology was sincere or not. i think peope appreciated the fact that he doesn't come across as a very good public speaker- and that instead of reading an apology written by his attornies- he just spoke (as some commentators say- from the heart).
Personally i let God do His job and if Vick really accepted Jesus- time will tell. Is Vick Sincere? Who knows? If he's not will he be able to fool a jury or a judge? Maybe. Will he be able to fool some fans? Possibly. Will he be able to fool God? NO!!! So i leave that part between him and God- although one can only help that he was being genuine.
i don't feel pity or sorrow for him either. But i do hope he is sincere in owning up to his wrongs and ammending his ways.
Kindly,
Nickster

Even If Michael Vick would have came out and admitted his guilt on April 28 at the NFL draft you would still have people protest and negatively judge him. Don't make no mistake about it what was done to those dogs was cruel and malicious and he should pay for his actions, but let's not value an animals life over a humans. Most of the people that protesting and negatively judging Michael Vick, were the same people that thought he was just a thug before all of this surfaced. I'm not defending Michael Vick for his actions, but at the same time I don't feel like it would be as big a deal if he was not an African American. As much as people want to say that it's not about race it very well is.

I think his apology was sincere, but sincere for the wrong reasons...I think Vick is sorry for what he did...but the only reason he is sorry for what he did is because he got caught. I agree that the time to apologize would have been when the investigation started or refrained from commenting on it. I think he was sincerely sorry he lied to Goodell to Blank and to the nation...and that he made a series of stupid, stupid choices. But like I said the only reason he is sorry is because he got caught and he doesn't like the stigma that now surrounds him.
However, this whole denouncing dog fighting thing is just so fake...Its like he took the attitude "Oh my god...I didn't realize it before but dog fighting is very inhummane and I'm sorry, I didn't realize it until just now when everyone told me..." He knew what he was doing. He knew about the brutallity and he kept it undercover because he knew that if he got caught he would be doing some hard time. He just thought that nobody cared, nobody would look into it or find out about it, and that if they did he was Michael Vick and they would just let it slide...
I would've liked to hear him say "I was involved in this...It was always around me growing up...I was addicted to it and its brutality and I understand that it makes me a sick individual." Then follow that up with his need to improve himself as a person. But I don't beleive for one second that Michael Vick is sorry for the way he treated his animals. I think he viewed them as animals...as his property and could do what he wanted.
I would just like for him to admit that he loved the allure of dog fighting and that he was going to pay his consequence and would never be involved in it again. I don't want to see him up here holding a flag for animal rights and donating money to PETA for something that he isn't sincere about. Thats just about as crazy as Nazi war criminals donating money to the Jewish Community Center and saying "we killed a bunch of innocent beings but we are so very sorry we take responsibility and we want to rectify the problem...heres some money and some volunteer work to make up for it."
Its just fake. Just come out and say that you don't expect to be forgiven for what you did, that you know what you did was wrong, but it attracts you and that you will do whatever you can to stay away from it in the future and not repeat the same stupid mistakes. But I hate to hear Michael Vick up there talking about he's sorry for fighting dogs...when clearly he is not...he's sorry that fighting dogs may have cost him his career, his money, and his freedom.

Because situations like what he's going through really makes things clear for someone. You have to go through the whole process, from beginning to end, to really let things sink in. And his apology seemed sincere because it wasn't written by a publicist or lawyers. He just used his own words. I think what he did was reprehensible, but at least now he's owning up to his actions and being a man about it. For that, I appreciate it.

Eat your pig, eat your chicken, eat your fish, eat your cow, eat your cat, eat your dog...yum, yum, yum.
I for one love barbecued dog. If you have never eaten barbecued Labradors, you are missing out. I had to go to Taiwan for that.
I think that Michael Vic's dogs should be roasted or barbecued and they should hold a big party. By the way, what is wrong with what Michael Vick did? It seems extremely hypocritical to charge him but let everyone in our food industry go free.
His dogs were treated no worse than the gazillion animals in America that are grown for food. What's the difference? And don't tell me that the difference is that his actions were illegal while the actions of the food industry are legal. We all know that. The question is an ethical one, not a legal one.

I think hes sorry for himself and to his fans for all the crap he figured he would have never gotten into. Fact is this is more about drugs then it is the illegal dog stuff. The feds are using him to get some drug dealers then vick will have to pay a hefty sum of money to get bail

Agreed BucFan. Those who believe he is being truthful after telling lie after lie for the last two months at least must be extremely gullible or simply wants to believe him.
And he never mentioned how cruel what he has been doing is, just classified it as a mistake and 'immaturity'. Immature? Really. Well I don't know many childish people who practice dog murder and torture. Immature is yelling when you don't get your way and that kind of thing. What he has done is sadistic cruelty, far from being classified as immaturity.
And Jesus? I bet those dogs wish he had found Jesus 6 years ago.
He makes me sick and I will never believe any crap that comes out of his mouth.

I can't stand that man or anything that comes out of his mouth and I hope people don't forget what he did anytime soon. I hope he gets spit on wherever he goes. He's been fighting dogs for something like 6 years, at least. How could he be sorry now except for himself.
