Upon exiting the store through the nursery area, the greeter was sleeping (he was a crotchety old man). Something in the cart set off the alarm and he immediately woke up yelling to be quiet!

The absolute worst time I had in Walmart was when I made the mistake of going in there on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. Children were running wild, and their parents seemed to be totally unconcerned. Staff was surly, things were in total disarray, with clothing and other items on the floor. I observed some staff standing around holding personal conversations, how do I know they were personal conversations? I heard one woman say to another about how angry she was at her boyfriend. I much agree with the post that mentioned Target. I'll drive across town to go to Target, rather than make the short walk to Walmart.

My absolute worst was actually having to work there, a total of three months...hehe seemed like a life sentence though. I told them I couldn't climb ladders because of virtigo and usually they wanted you to climb and lift something off the shelf, when I told them I had a bad back. Well I did what they wanted and my back went out... ugh!
The other bad experience was shopping there. I went to buy some goldfish and the guy actually scooped out some dead ones and handed them to me in the baggy... I immediately said "excuse me but these fish you handed me are already dead." He smirked and just said, I can't help you here, you'll have to take them up to the service counter. He left me there with my mouth wide open and he turned away to do something else. I was mortified.... I should've handed him the fish back but I just set them down on the shelf and walked out. I haven't been back to that walmart since.

My specific complaint with Wal-Mart is that the ones I've been in are always dirty. Merchandise is always strewn about. The place is always so damn crowded, usually with people towing around 3 or 4 kids and shopping cart.

I much prefer the shopping experience at Target. While Target costs a little bit more, it's worth it for the pleasant shopping experience.

Some years back Walmart began issuing gift Cards on returns. I rarely go to Walmart and when I do I spend cash. When I return something I bought with cash and it clearly states as such on the receipt, I want cash back.

Just walking in the place. It always seems to be packed with misfits from the area.

Outhouses are cleaner than their bathrooms. Even in the newer Walmarts, they're dirty!!
