My husband and I met over the Internet in a Christian chat room. It was really before there were a lot of online hook ups. In fact we raised a lot of eyes. It was back in 1995.
All my family were out of town and my best freind was away as well. I had to work and was a bit lonely. I had only been on the Internet two month; very new at it. He had only been on a month. He had seen my screen name and had already checked my profile. Neither of us were very good at keeping track of the rapid conversation but when I posted a question he IM'd me right away. We did that for a few minutes and then I taught him how to email. It's all history after that. We emailed, IM's and phoned every day for about 10 months.
Then he flew to Texas from Wisconsin for 5 days over July 4th weekend. We knew it was right, he invited me to visit WI over Labor Day for five days. It was all good.
When I got back to Houston he called me the next day and said that he was certain that we should be married but a proposal is important, person and lasting and he didn't want to do it over the Internet or the phone. So he called my dad and asked permission (which in it self was terribly sweet since we were both 37 at the time!) and then said to go ahead plan a wedding and he would propose when he go here. On November 2 he arrived in front of my office building as I was leaving for home. He was in a horse drawn carriage with a dozen roses. He helped me up and we rode though downtown Houston to a rose garden where he got down on one knee and told me he loved me and asked me to marry him. We were married seven weeks later on Dec 21. It will be 11 years this Dec.

My wife was a member of a young women's organization when she was a teenager. She was one of their officers, and yearly they would elect new officers, and have a dinner dance after the ceremony. She needed a date for the dance when she was 15, but because she was a very shy girl, she just told her friends to find someone for her. Her friends put the word out to their boyfriends, and somehow my name was mentioned. We were introduced one afternoon and hit it off well. Since my other girl friend and I were pretty much on the rocks, I accepted the invite to the dance. The day of the dance, I played in a youth league baseball game, and scraped up my leg pretty good. So here I went, on a date with a scraped up leg, to a dance with a girl I had only recently met. My leg hurt pretty badly, and we never did actually dance that night. Not to mention that I had never had a dance lesson, and was self conscious about looking like a fool out there. A week later, her best friend asked if we were going steady, and even though we hadn't talked about it ourselves yet, we looked at each other, and said yes.
I askerd her 4 months later if she would marry me, and even though we were still kids, and I startled her by even asking, she said yes. We dated, and prepared for our lives together for two years and got married on June 4th 1977. I was 18, and she was 17. Our wedding cost our parents $900 dollars.
That was 30 years 5 kids, and 3 grand kids ago. Our life together has been full and fantastic. Our kids and their kids are great, and I couldn't have chosen a better life.
Good luck to you. I hope you two find all the love and happiness my wife and I have found these last 30 years.

I met my husband when we were both teenagers in 1968. He was in the Marines then and I was 19 years old. His cousin, Mike, brought him to my parents home and he and I met and started liking each other. I have known Mike all of my life and he had also liked me but he was never my type. The two of us had to go our separate ways because he was in the Marines and had to leave. It really broke my heart when he had to leave. I got married in 1973 to a man who was in the Army and we had 3 children. In 1990 I received a letter from his cousin, Linda, telling me that Daniel was in Ohio and was asking about me. I am from Ohio but I live in Georgia. I could not believe it when I read the letter. I sat down and cried. I was also going through a bad marriage. I stayed married for 25 years and then divorced in 1998. We started writing letters and calling long distance. Daniel,my husband, drove to GA just to see me. If he had not told me what he looked like I would never have known him. We had not seen each other for 34 years. I almost cried when we finally saw each other again. He gave me the nicest compliment ever. He had said that the years had been good to me. I had been his first and only love. He and I took a trip to Ohio in May 2003 and we have been married now since June 2003. It is not very often where a couple gets back together again after 34 years. He had told me that he had always known that we would someday marry.

The pounding in my head eases a little I walk over to a TV shop. The regional news is from the North West, a long way from my home town of Hatfield in Hertfordshire. The time is 7.37 and as my head clears, I remember why I am here. A stupid affair with a temp at work gave my mercenary wife the excuse she had been looking for to grab the house and anything else of value that I owned. Cutting off my nose to spite my face, I left my job to deny my wife the massive alimony award and moved into a flat with the temp, in her home town of Salford. The North West is not the best area for a former investment banker to find a job, especially if he has an address with the wrong post code so when my money ran out, the temp(how appropriate) threw me out and I was homeless and away from my roots. That was in June and now the October air was getting a chill, warning me that a bad Northern winter was not conducive to street life. I was startled by my reflection in the shop window. A scruffy, unshaven man who looked ten years older than my thirty six years. Would you ask this chap for advice on mergers and acquisitions? Not likely! In my short career, I followed the Hollywood maxim of not treading on people on the way up lest they crush you when you are on the way down. The time had come to swallow my pride and contact an old friend for a little help. I used some of my precious change to call William, a chap who owed me a favour and my rehabilitation began. Learn well from my experience, Charles and think twice about taking Fiona from marketing to the conference next week. I was lucky, William collected me from Salford and found me a job in one of his companies, which was enough to get me started again. I could have ended as an unknown frozen corpse in a Salford mortuary.

I met my husband in college. I was the registration day and a mutual friend of ours invited me out to dinner. I picked an expensive resturant because this friend stuck me with the last dinner check by saying he forgot his wallet. Well I was going to make him pay for my dinner. The 3 of us went out and i found out later that the other guy had paid for the meal. I felt so bad. We became friends and we now have been married for over 20 years have 3 kids and 2 grand kids. The newest was born on the 24th this month.

I met my boyfriend of three years now at my neice's birthday party. Well sorta, Here is the scoop. Over twenty years ago our parents were friends. Our fathers worked together. We would go to social events and have been to eachother's houses during holidays, but I hadnt seen him since I was a young child. Anyway, about 8 years ago my brother-in-law and my present boyfriend signed up for the same work-related class that our parents took. They are electricians. They became friends and would go to the gym together and do whatever. At this point I still hadnt met him again. (Anyway my ex left me and his ex left him in or about November of the previous year that we hooked up.) So to make a longer story short, we were both invited to this birthday party, we talked a few times, and then he ask my sister for my number and she told him No, she would have to ask me first.....hehe, At about the same time I called her and ask her if he was married and she explained his story. I told her to give him my number. He called and that was about all she wrote. I have found my soul mate! Its weird how I feel like I have known him all my life, sorta like we we were together the whole time. Go figure, it sure is funny how things work out.

We were lab partners freshmen year of high school. We didn't really know each other but he was cool to hang out with in class. I actually gave him a condom that I got from sex-ed and told him it was for just in case he ever need it. I didn't see him again until The end of our Senior year and we were set up on a blind date by our friends. I found out he's always liked me and was just to afraid to ask me out. We have been together for 7 years now and more in love than ever!
