I'm trying to make a really good mix CD of love songs for my boyfriend for his birthday. He likes the above listed genres, I'm looking for unique, not the classic, heard it a million times love songs. Bands like Blind Melon, My chemical romance, red hot chili peppers, The Used, as well as hip-hop (not rap) and indie and punk stuff. NO EMO or pop. Thanks!

You have stated a few emo bands. I dont concentrate to that stuff so much. But if u r coming from r&b/ hip hop u would check out incubus first. they have got rather pleasant lyrics, vocals, and funky guitar results. additionally smashing pumpkins they use distortion to make a few ultimate rock songs that u can concentrate time and again. then u would check out a little bit of led zeppelin. Alice In Chains are pleasant too.If u wish whatever a little bit noisy u can opt for sonic formative years, jesus and mary chain, and dinosaur jr. they have got blank vocals with enormously noisy but no longer steel guitars. sounds rather pleasant. If u like rap u would four linkin park they have got gr8 lyrics. as soon as u get used to those i'm certain u might like instrument, neil younger, soundgarden and many others. do take a look at incubus no less than. unique the songs: pardon me, pleasant to grasp you, desire you had been right here, blood at the floor.
