One time in my 20's, I actually had a sign on my front door that read "If no one answers it is because: #1 no one is home or #2 I'm home and don't want company. It did keep people from banging on the door because they knew I was there. I was such a *****---now after years of acting that way, I find not nearly as many people want to come visit. Reaping what I sow.

I would have a sign that said " Please knock once, if I don't answer you than go away".
I hate being bothered when I'm in the middle of something so I'd like to be able to shut out everything when I need to.
