ive known my best friend for all my life and ive never seen him been hugged or shown affection by his parents, consequently he denys any physical contact, says he hates everyone
could this be a cause of not been shown affection by his parents?

Yes, As I said in an earlier post, children who weren't touched or held and loved physically by any one when they were infants and very young children did not develop normally and they were found to lack the ability to bond with others. Touch is vital to normal human development and people who are denied that don't have the same connection to others' that most of us enjoy.

probably but some people are not affectionate........they don't hug or kiss people but show their love through other ways........my parents are not affectionate people but that doesn't mean they don't love me........i'm not a very affectionate person myself yeah sure i hug people but i don't take them and grab them and say "i love you" or stuff like that........that's just not my thing..........

however people are different.........some people don't really care for it while others need to be shown love and affection or else it can be damaging to their social development such as your friend and that probably is why he is the way he is...

that i know of yes. its harder to learn something without a teacher. lack of affection in childhood years can cause lots of different things in adults. people can end up with insecurity issues depression aggression tactile issues rest assured your friend prob. doesn't really hate mankind but the only way to know how he is really feeling is for you to continue being a good friend and wait till the time is right for him to tell you what he is truly feeling. maybe get him involved with a small group of people who have common ground or people that he could feel needed by (helping elderly, children or the disabled). i thought i hated the world once to till i stepped out into it and saw the beauty it can truly hold
