Casper doesn't eat but the 3 other ghosts do. They make him cook and serve meals to them. When they eat, the food just falls through to the ground and then Casper has to sweep it up.

I haven't seen the movie, but I would assume that the food would hang out in his middle section like a gelatinous mass.
