My Mom got pregnant several times while still nursing the previous baby. Actually when she got pregnant with my baby sister (now almost 18 years old) she had not had a period since before my other sister was born.

Just to be on the safe side talk with your dr. You can be on the pill and still breastfeed.

I breast fed for 2 years, after two years I got pregnant again. It is not a fail safe for not getting pregnant. It usually only lasts anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. I would use something if you dont want another child.
