I use both liquid eyeliner and Avon's blackest black glimmerstick. I find if you're using liquid eyeliner, start with the top lashes first and then go to the bottom. Applying the eyeliner from midway to the outer edge of your eye makes it appear fuller. I never usually apply eyeliner from the inner corner to the outermost as it tends to "close" up the eye. You also want to use a liner that is appropriate for you; eye colour, eyeshadow, is it for an evening wear or day wear, etc.
My best tip is as this is your first time, practice makes perfect. Go slow and do not worry if you're not precise at first. Someone mentioned only to do the bottom of your eye for a while; good advice. The top is always the most difficult to get "spot on" so practice with the bottom first. With liquid eyeliner, you have to make sure it dries as well or you risk it smudging.
Good-luck with it and have fun.

Liquid eyeliners go on easy, so when I use it I don't apply to much. Just enough for it so show and bring out your eyes. Gently put it on over your eyelashes on the top or bottom. If you really want you, you can put it on the top and bottom for a dramatic look. Try using it a few times with different ways and decided what looks that best on you.

I hate liquid eye liner. It is too hard to use and it gets cakey after a while. I use eyeshadow as eyeliner. I use a very dark brown, an eyeliner brush and just apply. It looks better, doesn't get cakey. It's also easier to do smoke eyes with it. And if you cry or have allergies, it is easier to fix on the spot.

I've been using liquid eye liner for years. First you want to make sure the applicator is in an "inkwell" form, (Almay is what I use) , then you want to hold your eye taught with your left hand and apply with your right hand. Practice makes perfect, so try it out a few times at home. Hopes this helps.

If it's Prestige eyeliner, don't bother.
Otherwise, first put on all of the eyeshadows you want. Then keep your eye half open, because of you close or stretch your eyes you will get a blotchy look when you're done. Let it dry before you add any mascara or anything.

you can put liquid liner on the top of ur eye lash line on ur outter eye lid so a smokey look if you want to put eye liner on ur inner lid i dont recomend liquid eye liner cuz it can get into eye very easily so for that i would use a solid eye liner
