It depends on your skin tone. If you have a complexion/tone with a yellow tone, warmer reds will look great on you. Otherwise, pink tones look nice with plum shades. I find MAC has some great red lipsticks, however they're a bit pricy.

One tip though, if you do decide to wear red lipstick, go light with the rest of the makeup. People make the mistake all the time thinking they have to go all out when they wear a red shade of lipstick, however the end result just ends up looking clown like. I would skip the eyeliner or go light on it, use a dark brown mascara to pop the eyes (curl the lashes first, and apply to the top lashes only). Foundation and powder for your base, finished with a very light blush (depends on your skin tone for the colour).

One last tip - make sure to use lip liner beforehand to line the lips if you wear red. Everytime I use it, I find red tends to "run" and its more noticeable if you don't use lip liner.

reckoning on how finished lips you have and what colour of purple you employ, you should finally end up looking like the joker in batman.. so beware, yet overal purple is a sturdy colour, makes tooth whiter. does no longer use an all day positioned on utility lipstick, perchance some thing that should rub off or come off with remover surely. attempt it and spot in case you like it or no longer, if no longer take it off and not positioned on it, if so get a much better longer lasting version of the comparable colour. what's the extra serious which could ensue?
