It's the mind set of the person - Male - The weathers gonna be c r@p, but have to extend it out and say it much longer.
Whereas even though there may be a storm heading your way the female tries to reasure you and attempts to look on the brighter side.
Sorry if i sounded sexest, but it's the only way i could get my point accross

Because--get this--people didn't like it the other way around. When it was a woman reading it seriously and accurately, people compared her to the woman on The Weakest Link, and when the man tried to be light and joking, they complained that he acted gay or silly or drunk. When a young woman was put on, push-up bra and all, and told to read the prompter, they called to ask why she sounded so subdued. It's a no-win situation.
