Look these up on Amazon, and see if these are what you are looking for.

Electric Koolaid Acid Test

Naked Lunch

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Hell's Angels

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (not necessarily about hippies, but definitely about their philosophy)

Stranger in a Strange Land (again not about hippies, but this book influenced the free love movement)

I agree with PH. I read it and you definitely get a feel for the times and what the people were like. It is a good book but I didn't like it. I'm not really into the hippie culture. You could also read Allen Ginsberg (not sure if I spelled it right) he was the archetype of the beatnik and he wrote some famous poems like Howl.

For something a little different you might want to read "Life without Water" by Nancy Peacock, a coming-of-age novel about a young girl being raised in a hippie household in rural southeastern US.
