I only see one equation here... (that's just linguistics... correcting your "spoken" or "verbal" math... y'see, you can only have ONE equation per equal sign)
Enough with the English class... let's get to math. This is easy... you just have to practice a little more, and you'll get it. Assuming you want to find the value of n that makes this equation true, your first goal should be to put all the n terms (every number with an n) on one side of the equation and all the constants (numbers with no 'n'), on the other side.
The left hand side of the equation is 4(5n-7)... this is the same as multiplying 4 times (5n -7) or 4Ã5n - 4Ã7. This equals 20n-28. Your equation should now look like this:
20n - 28 = 10n + 2
Subtract 10n on both sides, and you'll get:
20n - 10n - 28 = 10n - 10n + 2
which equals
10n - 28 = 2
Now add 28 on both sides,
10n - 28 + 28 = 2 + 28
which equals
10n = 30
Dividing by 10 on both sides to leave the n alone, your final answer is:
n = 3.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
Basically, you need to get the variable, n, on one side of the equality sign and a number of the other side. So, our goal is to get
n = some number.
You do that using the various rules of equality.
4(5n -7) = 10n +2
20n -28 = 10n +2 (This is the distributive property. Multiply each term inside the parentheses by 4.)
10n -28 = 2 (Subtract 10n from each side of the equality sign.)
10n = 30 (Add 28 to each side,)
n = 3 (Divide each side by 10
Hope this helps.

4(5n-7) = 10n + 2
multiply through
20n - 28 = 10n + 2
subtract 10n from both sides
20n - 10n - 28 = 2
add 28 to both sides
10n = 2 + 28
10n = 30
n = 3
