I went out this weekend with some of my buddies. We ended up in a sports bar and before we went in a friend of mine says "If I get in a fight you have my back right?"
Now understand we are all mid 30's have kids, wives, (or at least ex wives LOL) Houses, cars, and several of us own our own businesses. Back in college and high school, fights were no big deal and we had our share, but at our age?
I said "No I don't, if you pick a fight your on your own"
Was I wrong? Of course if someone attacked him for no reason I would've helped, but risking my life, my kids future, ect.... didn't seem worth it. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you thoroughly grasp the concept of being an adult with responsibilities. No complaints here... Well said, and nicely done.

Yeah I am feeling the same way as you.

For example, my ex friend decided to be a smartass and knock someones beer cup at a kegger...well that someone just happened to be another girl.
We all know how females are, so you can pretty much predict what happened next. Yeah, the other girl took it pretty personal, and as we were leaving the room where the keg was in that girl came up to my ex friend and got confrontational and asked her "WTF" and that's where it went downhill and that other girl began punching her in the face etc.. Anyways long story sort of short........I let my ex-friend fight this battle on her own, simply because she induced it all by herself....had she not been a bi**h and messed with someones beer cup, none of that would have happened.

So I don't feel bad about it.
But like you said, if it was a fight for no reason type of thing, then sure I would help.
However when the provoke the fights with other people, I don't want anything to do with it. They picked that battle, now they can go in and fight it alone.
