look up lord of the rings in one of the books online buying websites. quite often you can see at the bottom a little space saying "people who bought this title also enjoyed......"
Do you like fantasy?
Maybe Anne McCaffrey's Dragon Rider? The Skies of Pern is another in the series and it is fiction more for adults. there is a kid book Dragon Riders out by the same name but I haven't read the youth title.
There is computer technology and elf-folklore/happenings in Eoin Colfer's series of Artemis Fowl books. They are teen fiction but enjoyable.
If you want time travel and Literary genres that bounce you might try the author Fforde. Yes, I'd also say this is more adult fiction because it is technically difficult to read, not because it's all love scenes. I forget the author's first name but I read The Eyre Affair=as in Jane Eyre....and there are police that jump into the novel and many things happen. it is an amazing "time stop" world the author creates& I was very impressed. However, sometimes wandering in the adventure section or the teen fiction section of a library or book store can often present you with so many choices that will surely fit what you want. Good Luck and Happy Reading!

As said before, you could try other Tolkien books if you want to look at what happened before the events in Lord of the Rings.

Also, Terry Prachett/ Philip Pullman books?

I am not sure how old you are but

Brooks - Shannara series is very close to LoTR's
Hobb - Farseer trilogy
Jordan - Wheel of Time series (books 1-5)
Bujold - Curse of Chalion
Fiest - Riftwar saga
Keyes - Kingdom of Thorn and Bone
Goodkind - Sword of Truth series

others for a bit older audience

Martin - Song of Fire and Ice series
Erickson - Tales of Malazon
Bakker - Prince of Nothing trilogy
Donaldson - Chronicles of Thomas Covenant

Melanie Rawn has a wonderful series that is slightly Tolkienesk.

The books in the series are:
Dragon Prince
The Star Scroll
Sunrunner's Fire
Stronghold
The Dragon Token
Skybowl

The first three novels are part of the Dragon Prince series, and the last three are part of the Dragon Star series...but they are all the continuation of the same storyline.

You'd likely enjoy reading C.S. Lewis.

Also, read some of the other books Tolkien wrote, such as The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, and The Hobbit.

The Earthsea books by the great U.S. writer, Ursula Le Guin. They are perfect after TLOTR, very mystical and mysterious.
