I have a ring that i need to sell. I think I lost the papers for it. It was appraised for 15k, my ex spent 9k on it. I really would like to sell it and get as much as I can for it, what should i do? My ex divorced me on the phone (military) so no, i dont feel badly that i have the ring and want to sell it. It just seems like i'll never get what it was worth

Try Cohasset Jewelers. I know they purchase estate items and the owners are qualified, honest appraisers.

You probably won't get what it's worth, especially if you take it to a pawn shop. My husband paid over 3k for my solitaire & the pawn shop folks said they would give him $500.00 for it, even tho he has its papers.
My suggestion; advertise it in a local paper or on craigslist. See if you can sell it back to the jeweler it came from. You probably ought to find the papers if at all possible; it helps prove the worth of the ring to have those.
Good luck & I'm sorry your ex treated you that way.

You should have it appraised first and see if they can give you something that proves the worth for it. Then try to sell it on EBay, Craigs List, etc. If you go to a pawn shop you will get nothing for it, they just scam people.

have it valued and priced by a reputable jeweller then you will have the paper work which you will need to sell it although it will not be worth anywhere near the original price so perhaps keep it for memories---at least he had good taste !
