Nobody criticized Gonzales more than Republican Arlen Spector. I feel he was verbally pummeled because of the awful treatment of political prisoners, during his watch, and his evasive non-answers when testifying. So, was Bush right, or was Gonzales simply incompetent?

If those being held are not considered "political" prisoners, I stand corrected. However, I surely hope we are above "cutting off people's heads". We are supposed to follow the Geneva Convention, not the practices used by those we consider terrorists. Such evil cruelty has no place in our system and I sincerely hope this is not ONLY a liberal attitude toward torture!

Alberto Gonzales was loyal to Bush, but not to the constitution. He swore to support the constitution and failed.

He should have been impeached immediately.

Hey gramma, I'm not aware of any political prisoners held by the US during the Bush administration. Are you so seriously confused as to think that terrorists being in git-mo are political prisoners. While most of these people echo the Democrat party line they are not in fact political prisoners.

it was and has been for years now..equivalent to the Salem witch hunts...'evidence is suspicions that 'someone ', 'somewhere, 'somehow', has done something wrong. millions of our dollars and their man hours, (approx 6 1/2 man years) have been spent trying to find 'proof' that bush and his administration has so brilliantly managed to hid from them all this time. the more the look and they less the find, the more agitated they become and at least they are able to bring down good men and their families who they willingly sacrifice to their vendetta.

it doesn't matter who bush nominates for whatever office, they will be fodder for the witch hunt.

Yes.
Oh My!!!!!
Did we mistreat Terrorist Prisoners??
How horrible!!!
Did we cut their heads off, like the Terrorists did our people???

Democrats care about Terrorist Prisoners, but they don't care about what Terrorists do to us.
That's just the way Democrats are.
