Some of my personal favourites. If you are trying to achieve the smokey eyes look, the best way to go about doing that is using earthy browns and dark blacks with of course your mascara. Applying black to the outer edges of your eyes will help bring it together, such as with the first photo there.

Here are makeups that can give you smokey eyes:
Eyeshadow:
http://www.ulta.com/control/product/~product_id=2138697
I would use these colors for smokey eyes:
Brass, Cashmere, Cognac, Heirloom, lustre, penny, toast, antique gold, cafe ole, fawn, suede, and sable. obviously you wouldn't want to buy all of those but they would give you smkey eyes.
Eyeliner:

I would use the black/brown eyeliner it really brings out peoples eyes
And last but not least mascara:
http://www.ulta.com/control/product?FT22=2086865&product_id=fs834067&add_product_id=2086867&add_category_id=&variant_id=2086865&add_amount=&quantity=1
I would use the jet black
Hope that helped : ]
