Yes it is. You can change anything in your mind to make you believe something else. By replacing the 'pain' with 'pain free' you will then never suffer pain again. Some practice is required.

Non medication methods such as biofeedback and acupuncture are patient dependent. While one patient may get complete relief, another may get little or no benefit. However, any treatment that does not require medication or injections is preferable. Of course if your pain is neuropathic in origin then biofeedback is less effective and acupuncture is often more effective.

You may want to seek the assistance of a pain medicine specialist and express your desire to use non-medication techniques if possible.

On occasion patients are given medications until they are trained in biofeedback or the acupuncture has shown effect. The medications are then backed off until they are used minimally or stopped completely.

Good management of pain uses the least medication and medications with minimal side effects if possible.

I feel that pains could only be completely stopped when the source is removed. Otherwise it can only be managed and not completely eliminated.

That doesn't sound like alot. The best way to stop masterbating is to have regular sex. Otherwise, the natural biology of the male species will overcome any guilt or attempt at self-control.
