Absolutely! Many great books were picked up by publishers after they were self-published. Stephen King threw his first novel in the trash because he had so many rejections. His wife picked it out and the rest is history....

other than a writer I know personally (like my sister) I wouldn't pay the extra publishing fee to buy a book by a self-published author unless I was really impressed with what I had already read. So, yes I would have to be able to read something that I felt was compelling enough to make me want to buy the whole book.

e book distribution is on no account unfastened for any author or writer. generally, the bookshop gets 40% of the conceal value, the e book distributor gets 15% and the writer gets the 40 5%. Out of the 40 5%, the author gets paid and the expenses could desire to be lined. With self-publishing, you extremely plenty are the writer so which you get the 40 5%. whether, you have already paid the expenses out of pocket so that is not income. the subject is you won't be in a position to handle the two vendors or bookstores efficiently with no need an ISBN. in case you do not have that, you're extremely plenty locked out of the present device and could could desire to sell the books in guy or woman.

I self-published and ended up with my book in bookstores throughout the nation, especially in upstate NY where Spook Rock actually is and took place. You can read some of the chapters on Google referenced in the link below.

I hope you enjoy it. I've done a few booksignings and had some pretty good comments. There were a few so-so ones too, but you can't please everyone and I don't try.

If I liked it, yes. My first book was self-published, so go for it!

Absolutely! If I read a chapter or two online and it inspired me to want to read more, I'd be compelled to buy that book.
