Tomorrow I have auditions for my school's production, Godspell, but we can sing any song we want, as long as its from a musical. Help!?
P.S. I'm a girl. Would it be bad if i sang Zac Efron's Ladies' Choice?

ooo. what a tough question. all the songs are too great.
I would recommend
1.good morning baltimore OR
2. i can hear the bells
as to me they're easier to sing along to without to much practise and stuff but you may be suited other styles of singing. if i were you i'd go to a big mirror when no-one else is around, select a hand full of the sounds you believe best and practise. Watch your facial expressions and movement as these can boost your performance and decide which song has the most potential for a good performance.

Good luck for the audition in Godspell, i hope you get the part you want!

I wouldn't generally sing a song done by a man unless it can be sung by either sex, but that song is obviously meant for a male to sing. Also, just a heads up that Hairspray is sooooo popular right now that the chances of several other people going in with the same song regardless of which one you choose wil be really high. If you're intent on a song from Hairspray I'd choose Mama I'm a Big Girl Now, You Can't Stop The Beat or I Can Hear The Bells. Most girls will opt for Good Morning Baltimore.

Otherwise, why not go for something that no one else will use? Be different! I don't know you're range, but:

Don’t Tell Mama – Cabaret
Go Into Your Dance – 42nd Street
How Lovely To Be A Woman – Bye Bye Birdie
I Want to go to Hollywood – Grand Hotel
Not For The Life of Me – Thoroughly Modern Millie
Waiting For Life – Once On This Island
Astonishing – Little Women
A Change In Me – Beauty and the Beast (the end)
A New Life – Jekyll & Hyde
Anything But Lonely – Aspects of Love
God Help The Outcasts – Hunchback of Notre Dame
Here In Eden – The Apple Tree
Home – Beauty and the Beast
I Don’t Know How To Love Him – Jesus Christ Superstar
Once You Lose Your Heart – Me and My Girl
Ribbons Down My Back – Hello Dolly
When I Marry Mr. Snow – Carousel

You can get the sheet music for many of these at the library.

Break a leg!

My suggestion is that you sing one of these three:
1. Ladies choice
2. Without Love
3. Good Morning Baltimore

the song "Without Love" made my cry. Anyway, if you're going to pick a song, it should be suitable for you to sing it (if you can get the notes and tempos right).
Good luck in your Audition!

You sing whatever song you want to!! Who's there to judge whether or not you sing a boy's song or not? I would sing 'Good Morning Baltimore' but I don't have the voice or lung capacity to sing it! LoL!! Good luck tomorrow! I hope you get the part!!!
