I don't care who he thinks he is or how imporatant he thinks he is because of his salary or his status. The abuse he made those dogs endure just shows his TRUE character. He didn't plead guilty until all others involved made the guilty plea. He is only sorry he got caught. It is time for animal abuse to be taken seriously in this country! He's used as an example for positive things, even being a role model. Let's use this man as the example he SHOULD truly be made for and show this country animal abuse won't be taken lightly! This kind of abuse should be a FELONY! Not a slap on the hand and a mere fine.

I do! Anyone who could be involved in such cruelty is a horrible person! I agree he is sorry he got caught. I think that animal abuse should be taken seriously, it doesn't matter if one is an animal lover or not. A person who can inflict pain on anything that can feel pain is cruel, period. The only reason they do it on animals and not people is because they feel they can. If the sentences for being this cruel to animals were the same as if they were human, we could put a stop to this. No decent human being should condone this behavior.

Michael Vick is not going to jail - he's going to PRISON. And Federal Prison at that. Jail is for local, prison is for state and federal offenses.
I totally agree that his "I apologize" speech today was about a day late and about eight dogs short. Some publicist no doubt thought this might start to repair his image. I personally think he's about the sorriest excuse for a human being I've seen in along time. While I believe that you can take the boy out of the 'hood, I don't think the 'hood is out of the boy even yet. Time will tell. I hope I'm wrong.

Just like I don't think you should get any special exemption for being rich and successful, I'm not sure you should be made an example of or receive a greater punishment if you are wealthy or famous.

I'm not sure if the punishment fits the crime, but either way I don't like how local law entities use cases like this for publicity for themselves, rather then handling things efficiently, as quietly as possible, and with even handed justice as the aim (see Duke Lacrosse, Martha Stewart, etc.).

I think he should go to jail for a very long time. Any one who participates in sure horrible activities should. If he could do such things to Innocent dogs then who knows what he is capable of. He is such a moron. He could have done so many good things with all of his money and he goes and does some of the worst things you can do.

Yes!!!! I think it is ridiculous that he might only get probation. It is also crazy that people go on sports center and say that this wouldn't of been that big of a deal if it was a white guy like Tom Brady. Of course it would of!!!! Maybe it is a little more harsher because he is a celebrity but not because he is black. Come on that's so ridiculous!

I do I do!...Saying he was immature doesn't cut it. I have 3 grandsons all less than 7 years old that would cry and scream stop it, at the sight of an animal being tortured. He is pure evil.

This is very sad. I believe that the huge financial losses from his NFL contract are sufficient punishment for Vick. We already have too many people in jail.

When a man shows that he is repentant, he should be given another chance. I'd like to see what he can do on a football field.
