MASSIVE question
One way of answering it
A lot of genetic sequences are conserved across different species.
What I mean by that is that, each gene produces a protein (generally) which has a function. That gene is made up of a sequence of nucleotides (A,G,T,C etc). Often those sequences are identical between species. So we all have that sequence that produces that particular protein which confers that particular function.
Sorry if I've totally mid understood the question

Today, all biology is molecular biology because it is being studied and understood at the level of the molecule.
All biology is 'driven' by the same molecular processes that are necessary for life. All biological organisms require DNA and/or RNA and proteins/enzymes for their functioning. So, all biology is 'united' by these common molecular processes.
DNA and/or RNA are the molecular basis of inheritance. DNA and/or RNA are present in all biological organisms. Thus, all of biology is united by this mechanism of inheritance.

All organisms on Earth replicate cells and/or themselves using the same exact machinery...DNA replication. All life on Earth uses DNA to pass its genetic information onto its next generation. Its pretty much that simple.
