Some Monitors get 5 ft and over. I had a Savannah that was nearly 4 ft as an adult. I have seen Iguanas that looked to be every bit of 5 ft.

Green iguanas, Asian water monitors, and Nile monitors. There are a few other types of monitors, such as Savannah monitors and black throat monitors which also have the capability of reaching 5 feet in length.
The biggest lizard in the world is the Komodo dragon, which is a monitor lizard. These reach 10 feet in length. Next is the water monitor, getting 8 feet. Nile monitors come next, growing up to seven feet. I have a 5 foot Nile monitor. It's a cool lizard, but definitely not for beginners, as it can tear you apart!

Iguanas are the only domestic lizards known to get beyond 5 feet; they can reach 6 feet! Komodo dragons get way over 6 feet as well, but obviously you can't keep them as pets.
