I am looking to get an aluminum fence put up around my home is West Virginia. I need it to be 4ft tall and meet BOCA standards. The fence will cover 389 feet and have a 10ft gate. I have one quote of 14,000 and a second quote of 12,500. I still have more companies coming out to see what they have to say. I received estimates of $7000 to buy the materials and have the fence delivered. So those to quotes still seem high to me. What are you opionions? If you know anyone around Martinsburg, WV that will charge a fair price let me know.

First, be sure you are talking apples and apples. There are a few different grades of fencing, so be sure the fence you got the estimate for is the same quality as the fence the quotes are for. Second, it will take a minimum of 40 post holes, laid out, dug, cemented. It is very labor intensive to install fencing. It also depends where you buy the materials from. Contractors seldom get discounts for material, compared to discount lumber yards, so thier cost for materials is usually higher to start with.
