How do I get a council house? or bump my point's up? is it worth me getting in touch with a local counceller have tried application forms but because of having no children or dependants I have to rent privatly and it is very expensive

Plainly if you can still afford to pay the rent, you can not be homeless (they will NOT grant a Council House to someone who intentionally makes themselves homeless, so you can't just walk out of your digs or stop paying rent for no reason ..)

Essentially you need to have at least one baby / young child and be pregnant and homeless (i.e. physically thrown out by your parents or evicted by Court Order) ..

It also helps if you can claim fear of physical and/or sexual abuse from other family members (otherwise they make you go home).

Having no dependants you will have a long wait as will not be a priority, chances are if you do get offered anything it will be in an undesirable area.

Perhaps you should look into other options, house sharing? or staying with relatives?
