'Where the heck is "such as"' that's awesome...
Ah, yes, answerer above. We should feel sorry for these girls; after all, its our fault we like to look at pretty things. (Actually I'll admit she doesn't do it for me, not my type.) Yes, its society that places value on beauty, oh, those Barbie dolls are the devil! No, its everybody's fault but hers for not studying more or choosing to give a damn about school. Oh, lets join hands and sing songs and heal the world...but we won't study, we won't work, no we won't try to make ourselves better, we'll blame this vague concept of "society" instead...

I am from SC and I can only say that it doesn't say alot about our education standards that this young lady was allowed to represent us!! No wonder we're about 49th in education in this country!! I know it can't be easy standing in front of thousands of people and answering a question off the cuff but come on...she was a mess...a good example of just another pretty face!!

Apparently, a lot of these poor girls aren't taught anything other than to stand and walk pretty. We should be ashamed of a society that appears to place value on beauty at the expense of education. She was nervous and I'm sure she knows she isn't smart. I would guess the only compliments and encouragement she's ever received only had to do with her looks.
We're using these young women as examples of the troubling questions asked of them during the "competition."
