i am using a 50:1 ratio.........8 oz of 2 cycle : 3 gals gas { non-ethanol} and it smokes very badly, and it is hard to idle down, it keeps dying

Here is a site that will help you to caculate oil to gas ratio
enter the amount of gas and it will tell you how much oil to add at 50:1

Floats are not closing the needle valve thus allowing the extra gas/oil mixture to flood the intake & causes lots of smoke & very rough idle.

Your fuel pump may have a hole in the diaphragm which would let extra fuel into the cylinder it runs off of. Run your engine for a minute or two, and then pull off your fuel pump and see if it is wet with fuel where it mounts or on the back side of the pump. If so, your pump needs to be rebuilt.

I run 8 oz 5 gal i see why yours smokes & wont idle>???Never have been able to do 50/1 plugs fowl much>?? 15hp johnrude>

Non-Smoking please, I dont techniques if others do...my ex hubby smoked and my mother and father smoke, and my sister yet i don't smoke so I in many situations like it extra constructive if not, yet that dosent mean that i'm long gone in case you get rid of darkness from each and every now and then.

could be running too rich,try having someone adj carb/carbs
