Legally or practically?
On my bike, I have a full stereo system with XM radio. It's fairly useless over 50 miles an hour since the wind noise overpowers it. But it's legal.
When on long trips, I often use a headphones. The law on this varies from state to state. Some states are OK with it, some say I can only use it in one ear, and others are outlawed altogether. But it's the most practical way to do it.
Then there's safety - some say you're asking for it because you cant pay full and complete attention to the road and your surroundings. Obviously I disagree since I do it quite frequently.

I do. My Honda Goldwing is supplied with a 6 disc CD participant, AM/FM and climate band radio. effective to take heed to three tunes while i'm on the interstate. I rigidity properly at an analogous time as listening to song, for this reason i'm waiting to holiday properly at an analogous time as I listening to song. Many long distance riders use custom extra healthful ear plugs geared up with audio equipment. The ear plugs save out the line and wind noise at an analogous time as affording the rider with the skill to appreciate his or her well-liked musical determination.

I guess you could if you had the means to do so but unless you have the means to listen to it without holding up traffic or be a hindrance to traffic(Cars too)then it is not wise but still physically able to listen to music.

Legally? Riding with headphones on both ears in California is illegal. One ear is okay.
Many of the "brothers" in my city have Harleys with full dress kits and they put 12" woofers and amps in the luggage so they can thump that glorious ghetto crap down the freeway....

most of the big cruisers come with a sound system in the fairing, most of them have automatic volume controls that turn up the sound as the wind noise increases with speed.
of course theres always ear buds & helmet speakers too.

the high end dressers have a sound system...gold wing and ultra classic as examples. i'd rather just listen to the wind. i cant afford any distractions on the bike. just 1 could become ur last.

As long as you're not covering your ears with headphones. You REALLY DO want to hear that fire truck coming down a side street don't you?
