I am conservative - Anyone who can look into the eyes of a dog and see what looks back at them from behind those eyes, and then turn around and do what was done to those dogs at Vick's house...... well, suffice to say "Be afraid"!
-
I see being able to do that to a dog as just a short step away from being able to do the same to a human, and I don't want to walk any street where someone like Vick, black white or green, is allowed to roam. Am I the only one?

I'm with you on that. What he 'knowingly' did, has ruined him for life. He'll still be rich, but he will no longer be looked up to and respected. He's getting what he deserves!

Anyone who has the capacity to treat dogs this way is someone I would never turn my back on at the top of a flight of stairs.

Like everyone is saying, abuse of small animals is a really good indication of how emotionally disturbed a person is. Violence starts out against animals and then progresses on to other human beings.

Our dog was not just part of the family, he was the heart and soul. When he died, no one could speak for days. Just breaking the silence seemed callous, like it was an insult to his memory. Nothing could match the intensity of emotion of having your dog finally pass on after he was your constant companion for almost 15 years.

A dog loves you unconditionally. A dog doesn't hold a grudge. He doesn't get bored listening to you talk. He's happier just taking a ride in the car than a lot of rich, jaded people are taking a trip to Hawaii. When you're sad, he feels sad too. When the whole world seems like it is against you , you can count on your dog to be by your side.

Vick could have had this kind of amazing, life-enhancing relationship with his dogs. He could have had the pure, unconditional love and companionship only a dog provides. Instead, he chose to make them vicious and probably got some sick thrill out of seeing them tear each other apart.

What is wrong with these pampered athletes? Guys like him should be thrilled that they were graced with some talent that allows them to become fabulously wealthy. They should be grateful for this, and be on their best behavior. Instead, we always hear about athletes hiring hookers, beating their wives, gambling, taking drugs, and engaging in all sorts of illicit behavior.

I could never hurt a dog, and I would never associate with someone who does. I hope Vick gets prison time.

I understand what you are saying. You are absolutely correct, however this is still America we are willing to forgive almost anything if you honestly confess your wrong doing, and are truly repentant of your crimes. If Michael Vick is still in good enough shape, and if the NFL does not ban him for life once he is released some team will give him a second chance. I'm guessing the Raiders.

You are not, Leo.
It's a fact that a high proportion of mass murderers "got their start", so to speak, by abusing animals.
No less a genius than Ghandi claimed that a society could be aptly judged by the way they treat animals. The fact that Vick was engaged in this horrendous practice makes me almost literally ill. My God, it's not as though he needed the money (although that wouldn't be a legitimate excuse either.)
I wish animal abuse was punishable by life in prison. You're not alone.

He shouldn't be allowed to roam. It's scary. I don't think being kicked out of the NFL is enough--just because he's a sports star and has a big pay check doesn't mean he gets a get out of jail free card. He needs to go directly to jail without passing go and collecting 200 dollars.

No, you are not the only one. I couldn't agree with you more. It's sick and disgusting any way one chooses to look at it. And I don't believe he's sorry at all - sorry he got caught maybe.
